Description

This level is directed at those who have the ability to recognise and read the Arabic letters. Fluency in reading is not a requirement – all that is required is that one is able to read the words, even if at a slow pace.
Throughout this level the student will learn about nominal sentences, which are basic Arabic sentences, such as ‘this is a house’ or ‘this is a cat’. The sentences will gradually become more complex, resulting in learning how to count from 1 to 10, masculine and feminine nouns, and their singular and plural forms. During this module, the student will learn over 270 new words. At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand and speak simple sentences, and understand simple verses of the Qur’an.

Practice Makes Perfect

It is very important for any student of any language to practice what they learn regularly, both in and outside of class. We give a lot of emphasis on practicing the vocabulary, the use of the words in sentences and the various different ways of expressing oneself.

Lesson Focus

  • Regular reading practice
  • Writing practice
  • Constant oral practice

Assessment & Teaching Method

At this level, you will learn the very basics in a classroom environment. Below is a video that will summarise the types of sentences that will be covered. It’s important to note that grammar is a small part of learning any language. Knowledge of vocabulary is essential in order to have a good understanding of the language.
